Job summary

Sound Transit in Seattle seeks a Director – System Project Integration and Planning to guide long-range transit expansion and infrastructure investments. You will lead the System Planning and Integration team, align operations with capital delivery, and coordinate with partner agencies to ensure feasible, sustainable projects.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 8+ years in rail/transit, including leadership, budgeting, and policy experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and eight years of rail/transit project experience; six years in leadership, budgeting and workforce management.
• Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and analytical skills for a fast-paced environment.
• Operational oversight for long-range operating and capital plans; experience with total cost of ownership.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local transit laws, regulations, and policy development.

Responsibilities

• Leads development and coordination of key agency planning initiatives (System Investment Master Plan, RFMP, ConOps).
• Provides operational strategy and guidance for long-range planning and capital investments.
• Oversees cross-functional coordination across departments to support agency-wide planning and investment decisions.
• Develops and administers annual budgets for the business unit; manages contracts and stakeholder relations.
