Job summary

Blue Origin seeks a Director to lead the New Glenn Sustaining Finance organization, coordinating all financial activities for the Cadence business unit. You will act as the finance partner to Cadence leadership, shaping priorities and driving fact-based decisions during a high‑cadence launch phase.

The role requires hands-on leadership, strong project management, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable executive guidance. On-site in Kent, WA, relocation support provided.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or another highly analytical field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in FP&A, program finance, operations finance, or corporate finance, including 5+ years leading and developing finance teams.
• Deep FP&A expertise across annual planning, quarterly and monthly forecasting, long-range planning, driver-based modeling, scenario analysis, and executive performance reviews.
• Demonstrated success leading finance for a complex manufacturing, operations, production, or capital-intensive organization.
• Strong GAAP and financial-control foundation, including the ability to connect transaction-level actuals through the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow and to direct close-related work.
• Advanced financial modeling and analytical capability, with fluency in modern planning, ERP, BI, and data-platform environments and the judgment to validate technology-enabled outputs.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex operational and financial information into concise executive decisions, influence senior leaders, and operate with sound judgment in ambiguity.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Responsibilities

• Lead the New Glenn Sustaining Finance team; set ownership, operating rhythms, analytical standards, and business partnership expectations.
• Own the annual operating plan, quarterly forecasts, long-range plan, and in-year outlook across P&L, cash, headcount, and capital with explicit assumptions.
• Build and govern an integrated driver-based model translating launch dynamics into financial outcomes.
• Lead monthly business and financial reviews, including budget-to-actual analysis and executive narratives.
• Serve as the accountable finance leader for Cadence; shape priorities and drive fact-based decisions.
• Own cost-per-flight and launch-unit economics with product cost, operations, and accounting collaboration.
• Direct scenario, sensitivity, and investment analysis for capacity, make-vs-buy, and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Coordinate with Accounting for close, accruals, and financial controls for Cadence.
• Establish a durable performance-management system with KPIs, data lineage, dashboards, and AI-enabled workflows.
• Collaborate with various functions to align operating decisions with program and company outcomes.
• Present recommendations to senior executives and drive follow-through on commitments.
• Maintain compliance with policy and regulatory requirements; support audits and strengthen controls.
