Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Director - Support Services to lead multiple facilities-related departments, drive financial management and quality service, and ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.

The role calls for strong leadership, strategic planning, and collaboration with the Senior Management Team to improve patient care environments across Indiana.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field; 2–4 years in management or supervisory role.
• Masters degree and/or Registered Dietitian with Indiana Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and Life Safety Code preferred.
• Knowledge of foodservice safety and sanitation requirements preferred.
• 7–10 years of relevant experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee financial management and quality service for Environmental/Linen, Materials, Maintenance, Building and Grounds, Guest Relations, Safety, and HR.
• Ensure cleaning, safety standards, and regulatory compliance across departments.
• Hire, train, and monitor workforce productivity and effectiveness.
• Participate as a member of the Senior Management Team and act as Administrator on call.

Responsible for financial management and quality service of the assigned departments including Environmental/Linen Service, Materials Management, Maintenance, Building and Grounds, Guest Relations, Safety, and Human Resources. Responsible for maintaining cleaning standards, safety requirements, blood and body fluid precautions, consistent department quality standards and state, federal and local regulations. Implements improvements that result in quality service and facility cleanliness. Hires, trains and monitors work force productivity and effectiveness. Participates as a member of the Senior Management Team of the organization. Acts as Administrator on call.

Candidate Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Business or a related field plus 2-4 years experience in a management or supervisory or leadership role is required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable job knowledge can be acquired.
• Masters Degree and/or Registered Dietitian with Indiana Certification preferred.
• Knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and Life Safety Code are preferred.
