Job summary

Selby Jennings, a leading investment bank, seeks a senior credit risk professional to oversee a North America portfolio spanning financial sponsor, specialty finance, and structured credit relationships. You will operate in the second line of defense, owning credit approvals, ongoing monitoring, and risk assessment of complex financing transactions.

You will partner with business, legal, and risk stakeholders to evaluate transactions, manage exposures, and contribute to the firm’s risk appetite

Qualifications

• 10+ years of credit risk, lending or underwriting experience.
• Strong knowledge of structured finance, fund finance, asset-backed lending.
• Proven ability to assess complex credit risks and manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration.

A leading investment bank is seeking a senior credit risk professional to oversee a portfolio of financial sponsor, specialty finance, and structured credit relationships across North America. The role sits within the second line of defense and is responsible for the credit approval, ongoing monitoring, and risk assessment of complex financing transactions involving private equity sponsors, private credit funds, securitizations, asset-backed portfolios, and fund financing structures. This individual will partner closely with business, legal, and risk stakeholders, to evaluate new transactions, manage portfolio exposures, and contribute to the firm's overall risk appetite framework. The position offers broad exposure across both banks and non-bank financial institutions and a diverse range of structured financing products.

Responsibilities

• Perform credit analysis and approval of financial sponsor, specialty finance, and structured credit transactions
• Evaluate counterparty risk, underlying collateral performance, and portfolio exposures across a range of financing structures
• Monitor credit quality, identify emerging risks, and contribute to portfolio reviews and watch list management
• Support risk governance, credit policy development, new business initiatives, and firm-wide risk appetite decisions

• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience partnering across business, legal, compliance, and risk functions
