Job summary

Family Dollar is seeking a Director of Facilities Management in Chesapeake, VA, to lead facilities strategy and service delivery for our store portfolio. This role unites Store Support Center and field teams to ensure safe, reliable, cost-effective store environments with strong governance and performance metrics.

The position requires full-time based in Chesapeake with up to 25% travel, a focus on budgeting, risk management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, finance, accounting, facilities management, engineering, or related discipline, or 10 years progressive facilities experience.
• At least five years of senior leadership experience with teams, budgets, vendors, and service delivery.
• Experience leading facilities operations in a large, complex, multi-site organization; retail experience preferred.
• Strong financial acumen including budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, and contract negotiation.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with data-driven improvement experience.
• Excellent written, verbal, presentation, listening, facilitation, and influencing skills.
• Ability to build effective relationships and drive results across functions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a multi-year facilities strategy aligned with priorities and growth.
• Lead end-to-end facilities service delivery across the store portfolio.
• Establish maintenance programs to improve asset reliability and response speed.
• Set SLAs and lead escalation for critical issues.
• Partner with Real Estate, Store Ops, Construction, Procurement, Finance, Risk.
• Lead, develop and hold accountable Store Support Center and field teams.
• Build a consistent operating model across facilities trades and regions.
• Develop talent and foster a safety-focused culture.
• Develop and manage facilities operating budgets and forecasts.
• Use data to prioritize maintenance and capital recommendations.
• Provide leadership with reporting on financials, asset risk, and trends.
• Lead vendor selection criteria and governance.
• Establish KPIs for responsiveness, quality, cost, and satisfaction.
• Implement systems to capture and resolve field requests.
