Position Summary

TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company is seeking an experienced Director, Stock Product BU to lead the overall strategy, profitability, product management, sales, and operations of the Stock Product Business Unit, with a primary focus on NEMA frame motors and low-voltage controls.

The Director will be responsible for driving profitable growth, operational efficiency, strategic differentiation, and overall Business Unit performance. This role will develop and execute business, sales, marketing, and product strategies while working closely with Field Sales, Research & Development, Engineering, Marketing, and other cross-functional teams.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive industry experience in electric motors, drives, rotating equipment, power transmission, or a closely related industry, combined with a strong background in sales, channel management, strategic marketing, business forecasting, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain overall responsibility for the profitability and performance of the assigned Business Unit.
  • Develop and execute strategies that drive profitable growth, operational efficiency, and strategic differentiation.
  • Establish sales projections, business objectives, and performance goals for assigned products.
  • Lead operational efficiency initiatives throughout the Business Unit, including:
    • Order entry processes
    • Inventory planning
    • Pricing and margin analysis
    • New product launches
    • Overall Business Unit productivity
  • Ensure Business Unit activities are aligned with the established strategy, budget, and operating plan.
  • Coordinate product management activities with Field Sales, Research & Development, Engineering, and Marketing.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive strategic sales and marketing plans and programs.
  • Drive sales efforts and identify opportunities to increase revenue and market growth.
  • Develop, administer, and manage Business Unit budgets.
  • Assign and allocate resources to achieve specific business results.
  • Provide leadership and direction regarding operational issues, resource allocation, personnel decisions, and business priorities.
  • Evaluate market opportunities and develop strategies to strengthen the Business Unit's competitive position.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives designed to improve profitability, productivity, customer satisfaction, and overall business performance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, channel partners, and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Leadership & Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Directly supervise subordinate managers and non-management employees.
  • Provide leadership, direction, and motivation to the Business Unit team.
  • Plan, assign, and direct work based on business priorities and objectives.
  • Interview, hire, train, and develop employees.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Recognize and reward employee performance.
  • Address performance issues and administer disciplinary actions in accordance with company policies.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve issues effectively.
  • Make personnel and employment decisions consistent with company policies and business requirements.
  • Lead and influence employees and cross-functional partners, with or without direct authority.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or an industry-related field required.
  • MBA preferred.
  • 15+ years of experience in motors, rotating equipment, power transmission, or a similar industry.
  • Hands-on sales and channel management experience.
  • Demonstrated success driving revenue growth and business profitability.
  • Hands-on experience managing strategic marketing initiatives.
  • Strong technical background, preferably within the electric motor and drive industry.
  • Experience managing a Business Unit, product portfolio, or comparable business operation preferred.
  • Experience developing and managing budgets, sales forecasts, and business strategies.

Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.
  • Ability to apply mathematical operations to business and analytical activities, including frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position regularly requires standing, walking, using hands and fingers, reaching with hands and arms, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling, as well as talking and hearing. The employee may frequently be required to climb or balance and may occasionally be required to sit.

The position may occasionally require lifting and/or moving up to 20 pounds. Specific vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

The work environment includes regular exposure to vibration and frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. Occasional exposure may include wet or humid conditions, elevated or precarious locations, fumes or airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually high.
