Sorren, Inc. is seeking a Director, State & Local Tax (SALT) to lead complex multistate engagements, advise clients, and grow our SALT practice. You will mentor teams, collaborate across service lines, and deliver strategic tax solutions while maintaining exceptional client service.

The role emphasizes leadership, technical excellence, and development of business opportunities across state tax planning, compliance, and controversy.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in tax preparation with leadership responsibility and specialization in State & Local Tax.
• CPA license or equivalent professional designation and expertise relevant to firm services.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the SALT technical leader advising on multistate planning, compliance, and controversy.
• Provide strategic consulting on income/franchise tax, sales/use tax, credits, nexus, and related matters.
• Lead complex SALT engagements including nexus studies, VDAs, taxability analyses, and state audits.
