Job summary

Sorren is seeking a senior SALT leader to guide multistate tax engagement delivery and strategic advisory services in Raleigh, NC. The role emphasizes mentoring teams, driving complex state and local tax projects, and partnering with clients on planning and expansion initiatives.

The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality deliverables, business development, and ongoing knowledge leadership within the tax function.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in tax with leadership capacity and SALT specialization.
• CPA license required; other recognized credentials considered.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead SALT engagements including nexus studies, VDAs, and state tax audits.
• Advise on state and local tax implications for mergers, restructurings, and expansions.
• Mentor managers and senior staff; drive business development and proposals.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of state tax laws and regulatory changes.
