Corporate Energy Buyers Association (CEBA) seeks a Director, State Government Affairs to lead its state advocacy program. You will translate member priorities into pragmatic strategies across key states and drive political outcomes in coordination with the policy team.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of state advocacy experience.
• Significant lobbying of state officials for a company, trade association, or coalition.
• Broad political network across one or more states and capacity to grow quickly.
• Strong understanding of state legislative processes and interactions with governors’ offices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 30% (more during sessions).

Responsibilities

• Lead development and execution of state advocacy strategies in core states.
• Engage with state legislators, governors, officials and staff in focus states.
• Coordinate with CEBA’s state policy team to translate member priorities into advocacy plans.
• Manage contract lobbyists across multiple states and budget.
• Build relationships with corporate members’ state teams, coalitions, and external allies.
• Oversee lobbying registration, reporting, and ethics compliance.
• Prepare internal, external, and member-facing communications.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
