Job summary

EVONA in Redmond, WA, is seeking a Director of Radar Payloads to own end-to-end development of spaceborne electronically-steered radar payloads. You will lead multidisciplinary teams across RF/microwave, antennas, digital/FPGA, firmware, power, mechanical/thermal, and systems, with accountability for performance, cost, and schedule.

You will build the team and hardware program in a fast, early-stage environment, interfacing with customers, suppliers, and program leadership to deliver

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or related STEM; MS or PhD preferred.
• 10+ years building RF/radar/space payload hardware, including flight or mission-critical systems.
• 6+ years engineering leadership/management of multidisciplinary teams.
• Deep radar system architecture and RF/microwave expertise; phased-array/mobile antennas.
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Own radar payload architecture across RF front-ends, digital processing, timing, power, thermal, and control electronics.
• Lead payload lifecycle from requirements through design reviews, qualification, and spacecraft integration.
• Recruit, lead, and mentor a multidisciplinary payload team; set priorities and ownership.
• Partner with Systems Engineering, radar algorithms, software/firmware, GNC, manufacturing, and quality to meet mission goals.
• Own payload verification, calibration, and flight-readiness strategy; ensure end-to-end radar performance.
