Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Director 2 – Systems Engineering Discipline Lead to guide a growing organization across multiple Central Region locations. The role reports to the VP of Central Region Engineering and emphasizes strategic leadership, people management, and cross‑disciplinary oversight in architecture, SEIT, integration, and test.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline.
• Twelve (12) years of engineering, project management, and/or functional management experience.
• Experience in Systems Engineering, including system architecture, SEIT leadership, and development programs through system integration and test, verification and validation.
• Active Top Secret and SCI clearance at time of application, with a recent SSBI.
• Ability to travel 25%.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and people leadership, strategic direction, and oversight of all major disciplines/functions within the Systems Engineering organization.
• Drive long-range strategic planning, ensuring alignment with sector goals and program needs.
• Lead efforts to optimize people, processes, and tools to support captures and program execution across the full lifecycle.
• Oversee SE recruiting, employee development, engagement, and skills development.
• Ensure implementation of sound SE processes during capture, design, qualification, manufacturing, integration and test.
• Drive innovation and manage budgets to achieve objectives and support corporate priorities.
