Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Deputy Lead Systems Engineer to help lead space vehicle design and production programs in the space superiority division. The role is on-site in Dulles, VA or Gilbert, AZ and requires strong systems engineering and cross‑disciplinary leadership.

You will mentor staff, manage interfaces, and support reviews from concept through qualification, with opportunities to grow into senior leadership.

Qualifications

• B.S. in STEM with 5+ years experience; M.S. with 3+ years preferred.
• Active Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain SCI clearance.
• Experience in systems engineering and integration of complex systems.
• Excellent written and oral communications skills; technical presentation experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the space segment technical team and coordinate engineering activities.
• Manage interfaces, baselines, and requirements/verification&validation for space programs.
• Support integration & test campaign development and execution; oversee subcontractor technical work.
• Prepare and present SE material for major program reviews; mentor junior staff under the Lead Systems Engineer.
