Job summary

Trident Systems in Sterling, VA seeks a Director of Programs to lead complex space electronics programs from development through production, owning cost, schedule, and risk while serving as the primary interface to customers. You will work with a Lead Systems Engineer to focus on delivery, coordination and strategic program leadership in a hands-on, hardware-focused environment.

This role requires 15+ years of aerospace program leadership, PMP (or ability to obtain in 6 months) and a strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience managing space or aerospace programs, with hardware development.
• Proven success managing government programs (FAR-based, multiple CLINs).
• Strong background in program financials, planning, and execution.
• PMP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more space flight programs ensuring successful execution.
• Own cost, schedule, and risk management across programs.
• Develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
• Establish and manage labor and non-labor resource plans.
• Forecast staffing needs and timing.
• Identify engineering resource needs to support execution.
• Partner with product management, engineering, operations, and finance.
• Drive subcontractor performance and accountability.
• Maintain risk and opportunity matrix with mitigation plans.
• Serve as primary customer interface.
• Oversee program financials, forecasting, and reporting.
• Support proposals and growth opportunities.
• Mentor and develop other PMs within PMO.
