Job summary

Trident Systems in Sterling, VA, is seeking a Director of Programs to lead complex space electronics programs from development through production. You’ll own program performance across cost, schedule, and risk while serving as the primary interface to customers.

Work closely with a Lead Systems Engineer to drive delivery, coordination, and strategic leadership. This hands-on PMO role fits someone who thrives in hardware development and building structure in dynamic programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 15+ years of experience.
• Space or aerospace program management experience, hardware-focused.
• Experience with government programs (FAR-based).
• Strong program financials, planning and execution.
• Knowledge of government contract types.
• PMP certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Responsibilities

• Lead one or more space flight programs.
• Own cost, schedule and risk performance.
• Develop and maintain an Integrated Master Schedule (IMS).
• Establish labor and non-labor resource plans.
• Identify engineering resource needs and timing.
• Partner with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance.
• Drive subcontractor performance and accountability.
• Align SEIT and broader engineering teams.
• Maintain risk and opportunity matrix.
• Serve as primary customer interface.
• Oversee program financials and forecasting.
• Support proposals and growth opportunities.
• Mentor and develop other PMs within the PMO.
