Where you will work:
This role is remote-based in NJ, PA, NY, IL, TX, or CA, with travel to the nearest office as needed.
A Day in the Life of the Director, Solutions Architecture:
- Lead and develop the vision and execution of Solutions Architecture strategy to drive complex solution activity and increase revenue.
- Collaborate with Sales Engineering, Product teams, and Sales to capture requirements and deliver solutions.
- Develop design standards across sales verticals and establish best practices.
- Lead and support Solutions Architects and Engineers in defining business strategies, standards, and roadmaps.
- Support business development strategies and facilitate requests.
- Develop Vendor Architecture SMEs to foster relationships and connect products with vendor capabilities.
- Align with the Advanced Services team to enhance customer value and support seamless onboarding.
- Establish measurable reporting for sales activity and outcomes.
- Work with cross-functional teams to improve understanding of product offerings and identify gaps.
- Demonstrate industry trend expertise, especially in managed services and AI.
- Lead research into new technologies and develop industry standards.
- Review solutions to identify system gaps and workflow improvements.
- Set clear expectations with teams, partners, and customers to ensure accountability.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration within the team.
- Communicate product roadmaps, releases, and manage escalations effectively.
- Support Network Operations through design reviews and vendor training.
- Advance Astound's DEI initiatives by fostering an inclusive work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring to the Table:
- Leadership experience in architecture or senior engineering roles, especially creating complex managed solutions.
- 8+ years in telecommunications, network design, engineering, or project management.
- 8+ years in Sales Engineering, Network Engineering, or Architecture.
- 5+ years as an SD-WAN SME or engineer.
- 3+ years of Wi-Fi experience.
- Strong industry trend awareness and technical knowledge.
- Expertise in Cloud, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, and networking technologies.
- Knowledge of voice solutions and UCaaS.
- Vendor relationship management and training development skills.
- Financial modeling and cost articulation skills.
- Ability to attract, develop, and retain motivated teams.
- Stakeholder influence and consensus-building skills.
- Proven leadership in delivering complex solutions on time.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience in client relationship management and solution identification.
- Deep understanding of MSO network architectures and technologies.
- Ability to translate technical needs for non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical and business skills.
Education:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Compensation:
Salary range: $155,000 - $175,000 annually, with bonus and other benefits. Actual pay varies based on skills and experience.
