Job summary

Edward Jones seeks an experienced Architecture Leader to head the API team within the Architecture organization. This role directs architects who define and build platform solutions, integrating with core domains to support product roadmaps and new digital channels.

You will shape architectural best practices, scale, and efficiency to enable future business growth, while mentoring engineers and aligning objectives with strategy.

Qualifications

• Plans, directs, and manages activities for a department of architects and contractors.
• Establish and maintain communications across countries, departments, and vendors.
• Align department activities with the firm’s strategic direction.
• Develop and improve processes for the department and divisional opportunities.
• Ensure prudent use of the firm’s financial resources.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to Solution Architects.
• Develop successors for key positions in the department.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years in Information Systems/technology, incl. 3+ years in leadership.
• Strong knowledge of systems, processes, and technologies.
• Proven ability to lead teams, develop talent, and influence others.
• Process-driven with experience establishing plans, metrics, and tracking results.
• Able to align team objectives with organizational strategy.
• Strong communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
• Committed to continuous self-development and leadership growth.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain effective communications and relationships across countries, departments, business areas, and vendors.
• Align department activities and responsibilities with the firm’s strategic direction.
• Develop and execute on-going improvements to all processes related to department as well as divisional opportunities
• Ensure prudent use of the firm’s financial resources.
• Provide leadership, development, and mentoring to Solution Architects through examples and timely feedback.
• Develop successors for key positions for their department
• Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years of Information Systems/technology experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role preferred.
