Job summary

SOLV Energy, SDI Services affiliate, seeks a Director of Solar Construction to lead foundation drilling operations for utility-scale solar projects. The role oversees engineers, construction crews, safety and quality control, and collaborates with project managers to deliver on schedule and budget.

Frequent travel is required as you oversee site execution from inception to completion, plan resources, manage risks, and ensure compliance with codes and company standards across projects.

Qualifications

• Engineering/Construction Management or Architectural degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–10 years field construction management experience with supervisory duties.
• Extensive knowledge of solar construction techniques, equipment and technology.
• Proficiency in solar project construction and understanding of array components.
• Familiarity with industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Proficiency in budgeting and scheduling with project management controls.
• Leadership ability, problem-solving and strong sense of urgency.
• Organizational and communication skills; drafting and computer skills.
• Knowledge of contract law and project accounting; familiarity with PM control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategies for efficient foundation drilling for solar installations.
• Lead and manage a team of professionals, including engineers and construction workers.
• Collaborate with engineers and architects to design and plan foundation solutions.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations throughout lifecycles.
• Monitor project budgets, timelines and quality control.
• Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee solar projects from inception to completion.
• Update project schedules and cost tracking; maintain daily records.
• Supervise solar operations ensuring safety standards and quality.
• Identify and resolve problems; communicate effectively with clients and teams.
• Travel as needed to oversee field operations and project sites.
