Job summary
NetApp is seeking a Director of Software Engineering for the Core Software Engineering group in a hybrid Raleigh, NC role. Lead cross-functional teams across NetApp, Cloud Storage, and AI to guide development and QA for ONTAP-based solutions, shaping strategic priorities and architecture.
You will mentor managers and engineers, drive end-to-end SDLC in Agile, and champion reliability, scalability, and performance of cloud-native services while partnering with senior leadership on
Qualifications
- 15+ years of experience in software development and large-scale distributed systems.
- 7+ years of leadership experience managing engineering teams and technical leaders.
- Track record delivering scalable, available, low-latency cloud services.
- Experience with agentic engineering and data processing/AI/ML systems.
- Familiarity with CI/CD infrastructure for large-scale deployments.
Responsibilities
- Define strategic direction for software development and architecture across multiple teams and product lines.
- Lead and scale engineering teams, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical excellence.
- Drive end-to-end software development lifecycle in an Agile environment.
- Establish and optimize development processes, metrics, and continuous improvement.
- Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers to foster innovation and accountability.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to define priorities and deliver customer-centric solutions.
