Job summary

The University of Washington seeks a Director of Softball Player Development & Innovation to elevate athlete performance, program development, and long-term pathways. Reporting to the Head Softball Coach, this hybrid role blends practice design, data operations, recruiting evaluation, storytelling, and camps while supporting coaches across recruitment through graduation.

The role emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and effective communication to grow UW Softball’s competitive trajectory.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required and two years of analytics, sport administration, softball, baseball, or related fields.
  • Highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong initiative and problem-solving ability.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of coaches, administrators, and student-athletes.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and modern data/video technologies.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Demonstrated creativity in digital communication and content creation.

Responsibilities

  • Lead athlete development lifecycle for UW Softball from recruitment through alumni.
  • Support practice design and provide technical/tactical instruction within NCAA limits.
  • Oversee video, data, and analytics operations and create dashboards and reports.
  • Lead and support recruiting operations, scouting databases, and program presentations.
  • Drive storytelling and public-facing content with Sports Information and Head Coach.
  • Lead all camps and clinics from registration to marketing and compliance.
  • Maintain alumni relations and coordinate events and communications.
