Job Overview:

The Director of the Social Work, Behavioral Health department, will oversee the daily operations of the Inpatient Social Workers, Inpatient Adjunct Therapy Department and the Intensive Outpatient Program and ensure it meets all regulatory and safety standards. With an operational focus on the growth and development of outpatient services, the Director will collaborate with the inpatient units, PESS, and other outside referral sources, providing the gateway for patients to enter the program.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate from an accredited school of Social Work.
  • Master s Degree in Social Work Required
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in an outpatient or inpatient setting with proven Supervisory experience.
  • Successful completion of all system/facility required orientation and annual education and competency programs.

Preferred:

  • Current NJ Social Work licensure as an LCSW required with certification to provide Clinical Supervision preferred.

Scheduling Requirements:

  • FT
  • 40 hours a week

Essential Functions:

  • The Director is responsible for the oversight of the inpatient social work and adjunct therapy teams and their role in the interdisciplinary team as it relates to the care of the patients.
  • The Director is responsible for supervising the milieu and service coordination, supervising the direct care and ancillary staff, and reviewing therapy notes, discharge plans, and other documentation and data to ensure compliance with the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and Addiction Services, DMAHS (Medicaid),The Joint Commission, and CMS.
  • Develops and maintains policies and procedures, facilitate interdisciplinary team meetings and morning huddles, take an active role in Performance Improvement and Patient Satisfaction, and maintain communication with the Medical staff inclusive of clinical director and APNs.
  • Maintains positive relationships with all customers, employee, physician, patient, visitor, and guests
  • Utilizes a variety of feedback to improve processes and services to meet and exceed customer needs
  • Uses sound employee relations practices and maintains high levels of visibility and accessibility
  • Follows though on all customer requests and inquiries in a timely fashion.
  • Contributes to improving quality services and productivity (takes the initiative to continually evaluate one s work, report problems, suggest solutions and try new ideas)
  • Effectively allocates and schedules resources.
  • Able to project and appropriately staff the unit/department to effectively function to demand.
  • Utilizes resources, both labor and non-labor to maximize efficiency and quality.
  • Adheres to budgetary guidelines and targets-proactively manages budget variances and causes.
  • Determines priorities and organizes work and time to meet them.
  • Interacts constructively , tactfully and diplomatically with others and resolves conflicts effectively
  • Evaluates the results of planned care for clinical appropriateness,

Manages a caseload of assigned patients in collaboration with other members of the treatment team. Documents clinical data according to agency standards and protocols.
