Job Description:

Job Title: Long Term Care Nurse Educator

Location: Brooklyn, New York

Schedule: 40 hrs

Shift: Full-time, Monday–Friday (availability required for early mornings, night shifts, and occasional Weekends)

Pay Range: $3350.00- $3450.00 Weekly DOE

Job Summary:

We are looking for the Long term care educator - performs the functions of an educator, facilitator, change agent, leader, consultant and researcher in area of expertise. Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of orientation programs. Develops and implements staff development and continuing education programs. The Nurse Educator of Long-Term care will collaborate at all levels of nursing to provide professional development, act as a mentor, and provide clinical coaching. The Nurse Educator of Long-Term Care will develop programs that are in compliance with facility Policies and Procedures and that enhance clinical excellence within the unit. The Nurse Educator of Long-Term Care will provide orientation for new staff and support the unit staff with competency development, and evaluations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate orientation and continuing education programs.
  • Collaborate with nursing leadership to define and uphold nursing practice standards.
  • Identify and assess the learning needs of nursing staff.
  • Provide clinical supervision, mentorship, and coaching tailored to individual learning needs.
  • Plan, organize, and conduct staff development classes using adult learning theories.
  • Develop learning materials (manuals, multimedia, etc.) to support educational goals.
  • Lead competency assessments and develop plans to address clinical skill gaps.
  • Maintain accurate records as per organizational and accreditation standards.
  • Serve as a clinical and educational resource and role model for nursing and interdepartmental teams.
  • Promote team effectiveness, inclusion, and collaboration across departments.
  • Encourage and support staff participation in decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor literature, research, and innovations relevant to nursing practice and education.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of clinical experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Nurse Educator.
  • At least 1 year of experience in Long-Term Care.
  • Certification: AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) and ACLS.
  • Education: Master’s degree in nursing (MSN)
