Job summary

FourFound is seeking a Director of Site Selection to lead the site acquisition process for its data center development portfolio. You will own strategy, due diligence, zoning, and commercial negotiations to deliver ready-to-build sites.

The role partners with landowners, utilities, authorities and internal teams to build a repeatable site selection process, with travel as needed and strong emphasis on delivering commercially attractive projects.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years in site selection, real estate development, or major infrastructure projects.
• Five+ years negotiating and executing business agreements.
• Experience managing land acquisition, due diligence, permitting or entitlement processes.
• Ability to interpret engineering findings into commercial decisions.
• Proven track record managing relationships with landowners, utilities, government bodies, consultants and lawyers.
• Strong negotiation, communication and PM skills; able to handle multiple projects.
• Bachelor’s degree and willingness to travel.

Director of Site Selection | Data Centers

Location: Remote, with travel

FourFound is partnering with a leading data center developer and operator to appoint a Director of Site Selection, supporting the growth of its development portfolio.

This role offers ownership of the site selection and acquisition process, from identifying target markets and securing land through to due diligence, entitlements and preparing sites for construction.

You’ll work closely with landowners, utilities, local authorities and internal development teams to build a pipeline of commercially attractive, deliverable data center sites.

The role

• Help shape location strategy, identifying markets and sites that support the business’s development plans.
• Lead site identification, evaluation and land acquisition, including negotiating complex commercial agreements.
• Manage technical and commercial due diligence, coordinating engineering consultants and other specialist advisers.
• Assess site constraints, infrastructure requirements and development risks, recommending practical mitigation strategies.
• Lead zoning, permitting and entitlement activities, representing the business in discussions with local authorities and community stakeholders.
• Work with utility providers and internal technical teams to assess power availability and other site infrastructure requirements.
• Coordinate legal, engineering, construction, tax and external affairs teams to progress projects towards construction readiness.
• Prepare investment recommendations, transaction summaries and project updates for senior leadership.
• Develop repeatable processes for site selection, acquisition and contracting.

Your background

• At least five years’ experience in site selection, real estate development, project management or major infrastructure and capital projects.
• At least five years’ experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements.
• Experience managing land acquisition, due diligence, permitting or entitlement processes.
• The ability to interpret technical and engineering findings and translate them into sound commercial decisions.
• A track record of managing relationships with landowners, utilities, government bodies, consultants and legal advisers.
• Strong negotiation, communication and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
• A bachelor’s degree and willingness to travel.

Experience delivering data center developments would be valuable, alongside relevant experience across other large-scale real estate or infrastructure projects.
