Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a senior leader to drive Early Search & Evaluation within the Cardiovascular/Renal portfolio. You influence strategy, lead proactive asset sourcing, and shape partnering approaches for early-stage opportunities.

You will coordinate due diligence across science, clinical, regulatory and commercial aspects, and pair with BD to close deals while representing the function externally at key conferences and with biotech and academia.

Qualifications

• Significant tenure in biopharma with experience in external innovation, search & evaluation, or business development.
• Advanced degree required (PhD, MD, or equivalent).
• Deep scientific expertise in Cardiovascular/Renal.
• Proven track record of leading due diligence and closing early-stage deals.
• Strong network within biotech, academia, and pharma BD organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the senior Early Search & Evaluation function within the Therapeutic Area Leadership Team.
• Lead proactive sourcing for preclinical and Phase 1 assets aligned with strategy.
• Co-lead internal meetings prioritizing New Product Opportunities in Cardiovascular/Renal.
• Develop and execute early partnering strategies, onboarding approaches and positioning.
• Drive cross-functional due diligence across scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial areas.
• Partner with BD and Regional Ecosystem Leads to advance opportunities through negotiation and deal close.
• Represent the TA externally at conferences and cultivate biotech, academia, and investment ties.

• Lead proactive sourcing and scouting for preclinical and Phase 1 assets aligned with therapeutic-area strategy.


• Co-lead internal meetings evaluating and prioritizing New Product Opportunities within Cardiovascular/Renal.


• Develop and execute early partnering strategies, including onboarding approaches and competitive positioning.


• Drive cross-functional due diligence across scientific, clinical, regulatory, and commercial assessments.


• Partner with Business Development and Regional Ecosystem Leads to advance opportunities through negotiation and deal close.


• Represent the therapeutic area externally at specialized conferences and cultivate relationships with biotech, academia, and investment communities.
