Drug Hunter Inc. seeks a Director of Scientific Data & Informatics to own the integrity, structure, and evolution of its scientific data across the knowledge platform. Lead the data team, bridge scientists and engineers, and shape data strategy including curation, ontology, and data extraction from literature and patents.

You will collaborate with Engineering, Science, and Product Management to design scalable data models and governance, advancing drug discovery data capabilities.

Qualificações

• PhD in cheminformatics, bioinformatics, computational biology, structural biology, or related field.
• 10+ years working with scientific data in drug discovery, biotech, or life science data/informatics companies.
• 3+ years leading people or a data function.
• Working cheminformatics literacy (molecular representations, structure standardization, substructure/similarity search concepts, RDKit or similar tools).
• Fluency in bioinformatics with knowledge of biological databases ontologies and gene/protein mapping.
• Strong data modeling skills and hands-on proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with data pipelines and modern data tooling.
• Understanding of drug discovery from target to clinic and ability to converse with medicinal chemists and biologists.
• Clear communicator who can bridge scientific details and engineering/product trade-offs.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the primary internal subject-matter expert for cheminformatics and scientific data to guide data decisions across chemistry and biology.
• Own the scientific strategy for acquiring, representing, integrating, normalizing, and maintaining data; partner with Engineering and Science.
• Define chemical entity representation, registration, standardization, and resolution; establish curation standards and QA rules.
• Define approaches for extracting structured information from literature and patents and link to canonical entities.
• Own semantics, entity resolution, and ontology strategy across sources, including ambiguity handling.
• Evaluate data sources across chemistry, biology, DMPK, drug, and clinical domains for coverage and quality.
• Establish data quality, provenance, validation, completeness, and freshness standards for the Data team.
• Mentor and direct the Data team; translate priorities into executable projects and hire/manage roles.
