Job summary

North Penn School District seeks a Coordinator of Emergency Management and Safe Schools to develop and manage a comprehensive safety program aligned with the district's mission and strategic plan.

The role involves coordinating high-level emergency preparedness with building leaders, training staff, and serving as liaison with public safety agencies. Requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years in related fields, with NIMS and emergency management certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in law enforcement, public administration, emergency management/public safety, education, or related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in school safety, law enforcement, emergency management, education administration, or related field.
• School Safety and Security Coordinator training.
• National Incident Management System ( NIMS) Certification.
• Training and certification in emergency management and the Incident Command System.
• Experience working in K-12 public education preferred.
• Act 120 certification, active or inactive, preferred.
• A valid PA driver's license is required with no serious violations.

Responsibilities

• Directs the daily operations of the district's Office of Emergency Management and Safe Schools.
• Develops and maintains the All-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan per state law and federal guidelines.
• Directs selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of security staff.
• Creates Incident Action Plans for significant events and coordinates with public safety.
• Develops and delivers comprehensive emergency preparedness training for staff and students.
• Maintains EOC readiness including locations, staff training, and equipment.
• Advises district leaders on safety and security policy implications.
