Job summary

Equitable Facilities Fund (EFF) seeks a Director of School Lending and Underwriting to drive the lending process, craft investment recommendations balancing credit and impact, and lead cross-functional initiatives across the Underwriting team.

The ideal candidate will bring entrepreneurial, multifaceted experience with mission-driven lending and a track record working with charter schools. Travel of ~25–35% is expected as part of relationship management and market development.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant professional experience in CDFI lending, commercial lending, investment banking, charter school financial management, impact investing, or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or related field.
• Unwavering commitment to mission and equity.
• Experience conducting financial, operational, and programmatic due diligence of charter schools.
• Strong quantitative and financial analysis skills with ability to develop and assess financial models.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage team members and complex workflows.

Responsibilities

• Deal Analysis and Underwriting: Manage structuring, underwriting, and preparation of 10-12 transactions annually for Credit Committee approval.
• Process and Relationship Management: Act as the primary contact for schools during underwriting and coordinate with Lending and Outreach teams.
• Systems Development: Lead ongoing development of systems and procedures, including the use of AI, to optimize lending practices.
• Organizational Excellence: Participate in cross-functional planning, goal setting, and team development.
• Special Projects: Lead or support projects to advance EFF's mission, including conferences and panels.
