EF Johnson Technologies is seeking a Director of Infrastructure and Systems R&D to lead a skilled team responsible for architecture and development of a distributed, all-IP network solution for wireless communications. You will also manage the field support organization to maintain critical customer infrastructure and ensure timely issue resolution.

The role requires 15+ years in wireless software development, strong Linux/C++/Python skills, and 10+ years in senior management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline. Master’s Degree or Ph.D., desired.
• 15+ years of wireless industry software development experience with a history of complex system design and implementation.
• Proficiency in managing teams programming in Linux based systems, C/C++, Python and web-based NMS and Perl scripting.
• 10+ years of senior management experience leading large development teams, plus field support.
• Ability to manage R&D budgets and prioritize resources.
• Expertise in debugging complex systems to resolve performance, redundancy and scalability issues in mission-critical contexts.

Responsabilités

• Establish and enforce development life-cycle processes for multi-component releases.
• Lead a tightly integrated development team spanning developers, testers, and technicians.
• Oversee field support to resolve critical infrastructure software issues promptly.
• Drive hands-on development while shaping long-term architecture and strategy.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing and Sales on roadmaps and budgets.
• Provide leadership and coaching to subordinate staff and senior technical guidance.
