Orion Placement in Gainesville, TX is seeking an experienced ED Nurse Leader to oversee the day-to-day clinical and operational performance of the Emergency Department, ensuring safe, high-quality nursing care for a diverse patient population.

This on-site leadership role requires staffing optimization, adherence to safety and regulatory standards, and collaboration with hospital leadership, physicians, and clinical teams to improve patient flow and outcomes.

Qualifications

  • BSN required and Texas RN license.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
  • 1+ year of clinical staff leadership experience.
  • 3+ years of ED, emergency nursing, or critical care experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day clinical and operational performance of the Emergency Department.
  • Ensure safe, high-quality, cost-effective nursing care across a diverse emergency patient population.
  • Manage staffing based on patient volume and acuity while controlling overtime and agency utilization.
  • Promote a strong culture of patient safety, clinical quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support efficient triage, admissions, bed allocation, and patient flow throughout the hospital.
  • Recruit, train, coach, retain, and evaluate nursing staff while supporting ongoing professional development.
  • Lead performance improvement initiatives and educate staff on quality and safety priorities.
  • Develop staffing schedules and ensure appropriate coverage for assigned clinical service areas.
  • Investigate incidents, resolve operational issues, and collaborate with physicians and hospital leadership.
  • Ensure equipment, supplies, medications, and clinical environments consistently support safe patient care.

Pay: $115,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year

Location: Gainesville, TX | On-site leadership role with a community-focused acute care hospital | Base compensation of $115,000 to $135,000.

Note: Candidates must have an active Texas RN license, BSN, current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications, plus 1+ year of clinical staff leadership experience. Strong Emergency Department or critical care nursing experience is expected.

Qualifications
  • BSN required.
  • Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Texas.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications.
  • 1+ year of clinical nursing staff leadership experience.
  • Strong Emergency Department, emergency nursing, or critical care background.
  • 3+ years of critical care nursing experience preferred.
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
  • NIHSS certification within one year of hire.
  • CEN or CERN certification preferred.
  • Strong communication, staffing, scheduling, team leadership, and performance improvement skills.
