Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a senior leader to oversee enterprise revenue cycle performance, driving alignment across operations, finance, contracting, and executive leadership. The role focuses on translating complex metrics into actionable insights and guiding data-driven improvement initiatives.

Qualified candidates will have extensive HB and PB experience, Lean/Coaching Kata expertise, and a track record of managing enterprise-wide programs and vendor partnerships.

Qualifications

  • Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
  • 8 years recent relevant experience.
  • Executive-level communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Extensive experience across Hospital Billing (HB) and Professional Billing (PB).
  • Deep operational expertise across major revenue cycle pillars and subject matter expertise in two or more functional domains.
  • Advanced performance improvement experience, including Lean principles and Coaching Kata methodology.
  • Experience scoping and executing enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Experience with revenue cycle vendor management, contracts, governance, performance reviews, and corrective action planning.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a primary enterprise contact for revenue and revenue cycle performance matters.
  • Connect Revenue Cycle Operations, Healthcare Finance, Managed Care Contracting, and Executive Leadership.
  • Align financial targets with revenue cycle execution.
  • Translate finance metrics and complex revenue cycle data into actionable insights for senior leaders.
  • Analyze data, identify opportunities, develop content, and present findings to executive leadership.
  • Lead performance improvement using data-driven root-cause analysis, Lean principles, and Coaching Kata methodology.
  • Scope and execute enterprise-wide initiatives improving revenue integrity, cash performance, and budget outcomes.
  • Address performance areas including front-end operations, CDI, coding, denials, underpayments, aged receivables, net revenue optimization, month-end close, and leadership development.
  • Provide education, guidance, and operational support to clinical care setting leaders, finance, and revenue cycle teams.
  • Oversee corrective action plans, accountability structures, deliverables, and timelines across corporate, facility, and third-party vendor environments.
  • Manage revenue cycle vendors, including contracts, governance, performance reviews, and corrective action planning.
  • Collaborate across departments and leadership to ensure transparency, alignment, and consistent communication.
  • Optimize accounts receivable performance and reduce avoidable denials and write-offs.
  • Review payment variance and implement best practices across facilities.
  • Lead enterprise committees and task forces.
  • Partner with local leadership and patient-facing operators to implement sustainable facility-level improvements.
  • Support performance monitoring and continuous improvement through revenue cycle analytics.

  • In-depth knowledge of third-party billing rules for Medicare, Medi-Cal, Government Managed Care, HMO, PPO, and Workers’ Compensation

  • In-depth knowledge of reimbursement contracts, adjudication, billing and collections regulations, compliance, claims processing, CPT coding, and patient accounting

  • Proficiency with electronic health systems, specifically Epic

  • Proficiency with spreadsheets, word processors, statistical tools, and Microsoft Office

  • Organizational, problem analysis, and time management skills

  • Skilled in interpreting billing regulations and reimbursement formulas

  • Demonstrated leadership and training skills

  • Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a rapidly changing environment

  • Ability to work independently and learn new processes
