Job summary

Jobtailor seeks an experienced leader to oversee hospital billing across our system, including Home Health and Hospice services. You will direct claim submission, optimize revenue cycle performance, and align billing practices with compliance standards.

The role requires strong leadership and a track record in reducing denials, improving cash collection, and driving KPI-driven improvements across facilities and payer types.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 7+ years of progressive healthcare revenue cycle experience.
• 5+ years of leadership experience in hospital billing, patient financial services, or revenue cycle operations.
• Strong knowledge of hospital billing operations.
• Strong knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
• Strong knowledge of commercial payer billing requirements.
• Strong knowledge of denial management.
• Strong knowledge of accounts receivable management.
• Strong knowledge of revenue cycle performance metrics.
• Experience leading large teams and operational improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee hospital billing operations across the Presbyterian Delivery System, including Home Health and Hospice services.
• Direct billing activities to ensure timely and accurate claim submission and reimbursement
• Establish operational goals, service standards, and productivity expectations
• Monitor performance and implement corrective action plans
• Ensure consistency of billing practices across facilities and service lines
• Oversee third-party insurance billing and collections
• Lead denial management and appeals strategies
• Improve accounts receivable performance and cash collections
• Reduce revenue leakage through billing controls, denial prevention, and reimbursement optimization
• Partner with payer contracting, finance, Revenue Cycle, Patient Access, Clinical Operations, and Information Technology leaders
• Develop and monitor billing and reimbursement KPIs
• Drive operational improvements and reimbursement strategies while maintaining compliance
• Improve patient financial communications, processes, and financial assistance support
• Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, commercial payer requirements, and regulatory standards
• Maintain billing integrity through internal controls and auditing
• Implement safeguards for cash handling, payment posting, refunds, and credit balances
• Lead automation and workflow redesign initiatives
• Evaluate system enhancements and optimize billing technology with IT teams
• Leverage analytics and benchmarking data to drive improvements
• Lead, mentor, and develop Hospital Billing managers and staff
• Establish performance expectations and support professional development
