Job summary

South Carolina Stingrays in Charleston, SC is seeking a detail-oriented Director, Retail Operations to lead merchandise and team store activities. This full-time onsite role oversees inventory, vendors, online store (Shopify), and game-day promotions to drive revenue.

You will supervise staff, manage budgets, generate reports, and collaborate with Marketing and Operations to create engaging retail experiences at The Reef and on the team’s e-commerce platform.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
• 1-3 years management experience in retail operations.
• Prior sports industry retail experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, select, purchase, and manage inventory of all merchandise for the team.

# Director, Retail Operations## South Carolina Stingrays•### @scstingrayshockeyPosted on 9/25/2026•Full-time## Job DescriptionThe South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL are seeking a detailed, highly organized, motivated and creative person to manage and elevate the organization's retail operations. This is a full-time onsite position in Charleston, SC.**Responsibilities\\Duties:*** Design, select, purchase, and manage inventory of all merchandise for the South Carolina Stingrays.* Supervise team store staff which includes scheduling of hours and the delegation of tasks.* Identify and vet potential vendors and negotiate terms and conditions for the design, purchase, and delivery of merchandise and souvenir items.* Develop a retail and online merchandise strategy to identify popular items, promotions, and price points to meet projected revenue goals and forecasted budget.* Oversee the team store, E-commerce and online store, including the monitoring of sales, collection of online orders, packaging and shipping of items, and website layout design.* Manage the Shopify retail merchandise Point of Sale System (POS).* Create detailed merchandise reports for Team President and Owner.* Prepare and maintain accurate inventory records and adjust inventory as needed.* Prepare daily sales reports and maintain familiarity and accountability with the retail merchandise budget.* Coordinate with the Manager of Marketing, Graphic Designer, and Game Operations to execute promotional sales through the team social media channels and In-Game Presentation.* Coordinate with Equipment Manager for sale of game used Stingrays equipment.* Create an inviting retail store layout at The Reef that displays and promotes the team’s image and merchandise.* Create and manage all Stingrays jersey auctions and raffles through DASH.**Qualifications:*** Bachelor’s Degree in related field.* 1-3 years management experience in retail operations.
