AbbVie in Cambridge, MA seeks a Director, Respiratory Discovery Disease Team Lead to build a vision for translational immunology in asthma and COPD. Lead a cross-functional team across Immunology Discovery, Business Development, Clinical Development and Commercial to drive an exemplary pipeline.

The role requires MD/PhD/PhD or MS with 12+ years in Immunology Drug Discovery, and a track record of leading teams and opening external collaborations.

Qualifications

• Leadership and strategic direction in immunology discovery research.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across BD, Clinical Development and Commercial.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to interact with executive-level management.
• Deep understanding of immunology, lung biology and translational modeling.
• Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams in pharma/biotech environments.

Responsabilités

• Act as program and people leader for Respiratory Discovery and DDT.
• Lead drug discovery programs and integrate external collaborations into the pipeline.
• Manage a team of 15+ scientists at the Cambridge, MA site.
• Establish collaborations with academic and biotech labs globally.
• Guide transitions across milestones and evaluate licensing opportunities.
• Contribute scientific insights to advance translational strategies and models.
