The University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine seeks a Director of Research Administration to lead financial, operational, and administrative oversight across the Department of Surgery’s research portfolio. This role covers PSOM and affiliated hospitals with a $26M+ portfolio spanning basic science, translational, and clinical research, including trials.

They will manage regulatory submissions (IRB, IACUC, RIS) and support faculty with over $8M in annual funding, while directing

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science and 7 to 10 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• A master’s degree is preferred.
• This position is contingent upon grant funding.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all financial, operational, and administrative aspects of the Department of Surgery’s research operations across PSOM and affiliated hospitals.
• Oversee pre- and post-award administration for a $26M+ portfolio, including basic science, translational and clinical research, and clinical trials.
• Manage regulatory submissions (IRB, IACUC, RIS) and support research activities for faculty with over $8M in annual funding.
• Direct budgeting, financial reporting for sponsored projects, financial analysis, and compliance; optimize internal processes.
