Job summary

AES Corporation seeks a Director of Field Operations to lead the safe, reliable operation of its renewable portfolio across the Eastern United States and Puerto Rico. You will provide strategic leadership for field operations, performance, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 10–15 years in renewable energy operations, a technical engineering background, and strong leadership across dispersed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
• Experience leading multi-site operations teams through managers and supervisors.
• Knowledge of utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind operations and safety standards.
• Ability to interpret equipment schematics and operate within O&M best practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead safe and effective solar, BESS, and wind field operations across the Eastern US and Puerto Rico.
• Oversee O&M activities with third-party providers
• Develop strategies to optimize costs while maintaining safety and reliability.
• Partner with Asset Management, Finance, and Commercial teams to maximize asset performance.
• Provide oversight of fleet availability, reliability, and cost management with KPIs.
