AES Corporation is seeking a Director of Field Operations to lead safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of our renewable energy portfolio across the Eastern United States and Puerto Rico. This role provides strategic leadership for field operations, performance, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive operational excellence.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years in energy operations, a engineering degree, and a proven ability to manage multi-site teams.

Qualifications

  • 10–15 years of experience leading renewable energy operations and related technical functions.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Experience leading multi-site operations teams through managers and supervisors in geographically dispersed environments.
  • Familiarity with IEEE, NERC, OSHA, NFPA 70E, Lockout/Tagout, Grounding.
  • Experience with SCADA, DAS, and remote monitoring systems.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe and effective execution of solar, BESS, and wind field operations across the Eastern U.S. and Puerto Rico.
  • Oversee O&M activities across sites with third-party providers.
  • Develop strategies to optimize costs while maintaining safety and reliability.
  • Partner with Asset Management, Finance, and Commercial teams to maximize asset performance.
  • Provide oversight for fleet availability, reliability, safety, and cost management with KPIs.
  • Drive continuous improvement using data and analytics.
  • Lead O&M budgeting in partnership with regional teams.
  • Develop workforce, capital, and maintenance strategies for portfolio growth.
  • Set performance benchmarks to inform decisions and competitiveness.
