Job summary

GoodPower is hiring a Director, Renewables to own a live portfolio of county engagements from first contact through final vote and ordinance outcomes. You will lead campaigns, manage local support committees, and coordinate across teams to accelerate renewable projects.

The role requires extensive experience in political campaigns, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work remotely within the United States while traveling as needed.

Qualifications

• 4 to 8 years running state or local political campaigns at scale, including hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector.
• Self-starter with sound judgment, proactive and solutions-oriented.
• Land-use, siting, or infrastructure approval experience.
• Highly organized with strong systems for managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• Track record of running multiple campaigns at once with timelines.

Responsibilities

• Own a live portfolio of county engagements end to end, from initial assessment through hearing, vote, and ordinance outcome.
• Stand up local support committees in priority counties and keep them active across the full approval timeline.
• Lead campaigns that move counties out of moratoria and into approved projects; manage ordinance clocks.
• Develop guides and collateral for engaging with local officials, stakeholders, and communities.
