Responsibilities

  • Handle regulatory inquiries, exams and data collection to satisfactory conclusions.
  • Manage information requests and facilitate meetings with regulators as required.
  • Help to ensure that documentation and responses are fulsome and adequately address the requests without exposing potential gaps or risks.
  • Identify and escalate key themes, potential risks and mitigation plans/strategy to proactively address key perceived risks before they become issues.
  • Perform efficient tracking, monitoring and disposition of all information requests and meetings from supervisory exams to ad hoc regulatory matters.
  • Support US Regulatory and Regulatory Operations as needed.
  • Work on other special projects and perform additional duties as required.

Job description

AIG is seeking a Director, Regulatory Affairs to join the Group Regulatory Team of AIG’s GLCR Global Regulatory Group. Reporting to the Head of Group Regulatory, the successful candidate will support regulatory examinations, strategic projects, process optimization, solutions development, and the ongoing support that Group Regulatory provides to US Regulatory. This position will regularly interact directly with senior management of the regulatory organization and as such be a key contributor to the effective and consistent execution of the Group’s responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities
  • Handle regulatory inquiries, exams and data collection exercises to satisfactory conclusions.
  • Manage information and documentation requests and facilitate meetings with regulators as required.
  • Help to ensure that documentation and responses are fulsome and adequately address the requests without exposing potential gaps or risks.
  • Identify and escalate key themes, potential risks and mitigation plans/strategy to proactively address key perceived risks before they become issues.

Required Skills
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
  • SharePoint experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree required.

5-8 years in a large financial services organization managing or supporting regulatory activities (exams, data calls, filings); insurance or insurance-related experience is a plus.

The base salary range for this position in New York, NY is $175,000-190,000, and in New Jersey the range is $170,000-`185,000 the role is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan. Your actual compensation will be dependent on your skills, experience, and qualifications.
