Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field.
• Three years’ registered nurse experience, with one year in direct people management/leadership.
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) - American Heart Association.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license in Wisconsin or a compact state.

We are seeking an inspirational, patient-centered nurse leader to serve as Director of Surgical & Procedural Services at SSM Health Monroe Clinic Hospital, a 58-bed community hospital serving rural southern Wisconsin.

This leader will provide strategic and operational oversight for a diverse portfolio of procedural services, including the Operating Room, Surgical Center, PACU, Endoscopy, Sterile Processing, Cardiac Cath Lab, Interventional Radiology, and Anesthesia. Key responsibilities include leading day-to-day operations, developing and executing strategy, ensuring responsible fiscal stewardship, optimizing resources and workflows, and advancing evidence-based practices that support high reliability, exceptional quality, and patient safety.

Successful candidates will demonstrate a history of building collaborative, cross-functional partnerships, communicating effectively across disciplines, and navigating difficult conversations with confidence, professionalism, and respect. Previous leadership experience within surgical and procedural services is preferred. Primary Responsibilities

• Develops departmental goals and objectives consistent with medical, administrative, legal and ethical requirements of the health care delivery system.
• Directs clinical activities, including patient assessment, care plan development, service level determination, patient visits, and complaint management.
• Plans, organizes and directs all activities related to staffing, including hiring, orienting, evaluating and continuing education initiatives.
• Prepares and monitors budget(s) and ensures that assigned nursing area operates within allocated funds. Coordinates and directs internal and externally-driven audits.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• Master’s degree in nursing or related field
