Job summary

EMD Serono in Massachusetts seeks a Director, Real World Evidence Scientist to lead RWE strategy at the program level, oversee PRWE and CMS initiatives, and interface with Global Program Teams. Hybrid role in Billerica, MA with 3 days in office.

You will guide end-to-end RWE activities, manage budgets, mentor scientists, and represent PRWE in external collaborations and conferences, contributing to regulatory submissions and HTA strategies.

Qualifications

• 8–10 years of RWE experience in CRO or pharma/biotech industry.
• Experience with secondary data studies (claims, EMR, registries) across Europe, US, Asia.
• Knowledge of federated data networks (CPRD, Optum, IQVIA, TriNetX) and OMOP CDM or FHIR.
• Strong methodological skills; pharmacovigilance knowledge.
• Global RWE leadership with cross-functional collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own the RWE strategy at the program level.
• Lead PRWE and CMS cross-functional initiatives.
• Oversee outsourced deliverables with high quality and timeliness.
• Represent PRWE externally; contribute to publications and conferences.
• Develop state-of-the-art RWE methodologies and standards.
• Manage budget for program-level RWE projects.
