General Description of the Job Class

Exercise management responsibility directly over functions and services of clinical and non-clinical hospital and ambulatory aspects and over functions that apply uniformly across the duties, ensuring efficient services designed to meet the needs of patients, personnel, and staff.

Duties and Responsibilities of this Level

  1. Direct and facilitate the establishment and implementation of plans, operations, and programs as assigned, ensuring efficient and professional services designed to meet the needs of patients and personnel in coordination with the Vice President. Provide administrative direction to staff management by applying specialized and technical knowledge in the implementation and execution of the planned programs. This includes, but is not limited to, establishing and maintaining standards for procedures, business plans for capital acquisitions, SAP rollout of functions, as well as procurement, contracting, and other initiatives. Coordinate the determination of expense requirements (based on flexible budgets of procedures for revenue) of all expense centers; responsible for budgetary recommendations, monitoring, verifying, and reconciliation of expenditures.
  2. Coordinate through accountable management personnel and outside areas the establishment of major schedules, task assignments, and allocation of manpower and equipment to ensure conformance with specified objectives and policies for all aspects of work; work and facilitate with the Vice President on objectives for area and projects.
  3. Coordinate activities of non-clinical and clinical aspects with the Vice President and other leaders to ensure the efficient, coordinated delivery of services.
  4. Assist the Vice President in such duties as may be assigned or delegated, including staffing analyses and recommendations regarding policies and procedures.
  5. Prepare reports and analyses setting forth progress, adverse trends, and appropriate recommendations or conclusions as indicated or requested.
  6. Prepare data and dashboard reports to enhance projects and functions of the area.
  7. Manage and be responsible for various personnel functions, including, but not limited to, hiring, merit recommendations, promotions, transfers, and vacation schedules.
  8. Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
  9. The position reports directly to the Vice President.
