Job summary

Tanium seeks a Director, R&D and Strategic Finance to partner with Engineering, Product and Strategy leadership. You will own budget planning for these orgs and deliver best-in-class financial modeling, analyses, and insights to support data-driven decisions and the multi-year financial plan.

You will influence executive-level decisions, including product strategy, partnerships, pricing, and GTM approaches.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or Finance.
• 8+ years in strategic/corporate finance or related roles, at a high-growth tech company.
• Experience leveraging AI to automate processes.
• Experience partnering with R&D or GTM teams in tech/SaaS environments.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint with data visualization tools (Power BI).

Responsibilities

• Own budget management for R&D orgs (Engineering, Product) including planning, forecasting and variance analysis.
• Model growth initiatives with R&D leadership and advise on strategic investments.
• Lead a small team supporting budgeting, modeling and project execution across R&D.
• Provide analyses and modeling for COO, CFO, CTO and other executives.
• Develop management reporting to enable data-driven decision making.
• Translate Tanium’s product and GTM model into actionable financial insights for health of the business.
• Drive improvements to financial processes, tools and models to highlight risks and opportunities.
