Job summary

Humana is seeking a Director, Segment Quality Engineering to lead quality practices across a defined portfolio. You will drive delivery quality, test automation, and release readiness, partnering with Product, Engineering, Architecture, Platform, DevOps, and enterprise quality teams to embed quality throughout the SDLC.

You will lead managers, architects, engineers, and SDETs, establishing portfolio goals and governance, while advancing AI-enabled quality capabilities and modernizing testing

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in software engineering, quality engineering, testing, or related technical disciplines.
• 5+ years leading quality engineering, test automation, or software delivery teams in large enterprises.
• Experience leading quality engineering execution across multiple agile teams or complex portfolios.
• Proven success driving modernization including automation, tooling, processes, and metrics-driven execution.
• Strong understanding of Agile, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

Responsibilities

• Lead quality engineering strategy and execution across a defined portfolio or segment.
• Lead and develop quality engineering managers, leads, engineers, and SDETs; drive talent growth.
• Establish goals, KPIs, and governance to improve delivery quality, release readiness, and stability.
• Embed built-in quality across planning, design, development, testing, and deployment.
• Oversee test strategy across functional, integration, end-to-end, regression, and release validation.
• Own portfolio-level quality risk management including defects and environment issues.
• Drive automation-first practices and integrate quality signals into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead adoption of AI-enabled quality engineering capabilities.
• Sponsor modernization of quality frameworks, tooling, and test approaches.
• Oversee non-functional quality: performance, resiliency, security validation.
• Use metrics and production insights to drive continuous improvement.
• Partner with stakeholders to align with broader quality strategy and standards.
