Job summary

City of New York's Office of Technology and Innovation (OTI) seeks a Director of Public Safety Solutions Development in Brooklyn to lead the Integration & Engineering, QA, Business Analysis, and Data Analytics teams.

You will oversee the Solutions Development Environment, guide testing and integration of new software for NYC Public Safety, and partner with city agencies and vendors to align with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• A master's degree in computer science from an accredited college or university and three years of progressively more responsible IT experience, including management.
• Bachelor's degree plus four years of progressive IT experience as described above.
• High school diploma and six years of progressive IT experience as described above.
• A satisfactory combination of education and experience meeting the above requirements, with at least three years in IT and 18 months in admin/managerial roles.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership to unify and direct the Integration & Engineering, Quality Assurance, Business Analysis, and Data Analytics teams.
• Oversee the management and development of the Solutions Development Environment to mirror production and support testing.
• Lead testing, analysis, and validation of new software applications for potential NYC Public Safety integration.
• Direct the transition and integration of Business Analysis and SDE support teams under this leadership role.
• Establish best practices for solution development, testing methodologies, and proofs-of-concept.
• Partner with stakeholders, city agencies, and vendors to align development with goals and regulatory needs.
• Develop resource optimization strategies to maximize efficiency and reduce redundancies.
• Identify operational needs and emerging tech opportunities to enhance public safety service delivery.
• Maintain accountability for team performance, growth, and adherence to NYC Public Safety policies and standards.
• Oversee special projects and initiatives as assigned.
