Cigna Healthcare is seeking a Director-level Provider Contracting Advisor to lead complex contracting and network management in Tennessee. You will drive fee-for-service and value-based negotiations with hospitals and large physician groups, while building strategic provider partnerships to support the local market strategy.

The role emphasizes financial acumen, cross-functional collaboration, and strong communication skills to influence internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or MHA preferred.
• 3+ years Managed Care contracting and negotiating experience.
• Experience building and nurturing external provider relationships.
• Knowledge of complex reimbursement methodologies, incl. incentive-based models.
• Experience with hospital, managed care, and provider business models.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to influence both sales and providers.

Responsibilities

• Manages complex contracting and negotiations for fee-for-service and value-based reimbursements with hospitals and other providers.
• Builds relationships that nurture provider partnerships and seeks broader value-based business opportunities.
• Initiates and maintains communication with matrix partners across Claims Operations, Medical Management, Credentialing, Legal, and Compliance.
• Contributes to development of network analytics for network solutions.
• Works to meet unit cost targets while preserving an adequate network.
• Creates and manages initiatives to improve total medical cost and quality.
• Drives change with external provider partners by offering consultative expertise for cost initiatives.
• Prepares and analyzes financial impact of large provider contracts.
• Creates provider agreements meeting internal standards and external expectations.
• Assists in resolving elevated complex provider service complaints.
• Manages key provider relationships and interfaces with providers and staff.
• Demonstrates knowledge of providers in the local geographic area and competitive landscape.
