Job summary

Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company is seeking a Director of Property Claims in a remote role serving the West/Midwest territory. The leader will drive performance, develop claims managers, and streamline processes across a geographic region.

You will oversee complex property losses, partner with Legal, Subrogation, and Quality Assurance, and travel as needed to inspect sites and manage field operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of claims experience with personal lines property claims, including complex losses, estimating, coverage interpretation, investigation, and settlement.
• Proven experience leading and developing claims managers and teams with focus on performance, coaching, and talent development.
• Ability to manage claims performance against metrics and implement operational strategies.

Responsibilities

• Manages claims processes within property claims and a geographic location.
• Develops and implements new solutions and processes to ensure optimization and regulatory compliance.
• Coordinates cross-claims and cross-functional issues with Claims Directors for other lines of business.
• Delivers outstanding customer service to Nationwide customers.
• Supervises associate management including performance, salary planning, training, and staffing.
