Role Summary

The Director of Project Management manages capital project delivery within the MTA Construction and Development (C&D) Infrastructure Department. Responsibilities include ensuring project safety, efficiency, schedule, budget, and compliance with contractual and policy standards. The role involves monitoring project status, mitigating risks, resolving issues, and coordinating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects.
  • Coordinate project activities from initiation through close-out.
  • Monitor project performance and pursue improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Coordinate with project teams, stakeholders, and agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Oversee project documentation, reporting, and audits.
  • Manage staff recruitment, development, and discipline.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction, Project Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years in managing construction programs / projects or supervisory roles.
  • Licenses or certifications such as PE, RA, PMP, CCM are preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Windows, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, etc.
