Job Description
Position Overview:
As the Director of Project Management within our Industrial Automation Systems division, you will lead a high-performing team responsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex automation projects. Reporting to the General Manager, you will oversee the planning, execution, and successful completion of projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of Project and Program Managers, ensuring the efficient execution of automation projects from purchase order receipt through to final installation and customer acceptance.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project execution adheres to ISO 9001/NQA-1 Quality requirements as defined in manuals and procedures.
- HSE: Demonstrate leadership in Health, Safety, and Environment compliance, including implementing and maintaining management systems, conducting hazard assessments, inspections, and audits.
Specific Responsibilities
Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement project strategies aligned with organizational goals, utilizing methodologies such as Agile, PRINCE2, and Lean.
- Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure project success.
- Standards and Customer Satisfaction: Apply standards set by the General Manager for project execution, ensuring quality and performance that meet or exceed customer expectations, and continuously improve customer satisfaction metrics.
- Cost and Risk Management: Promote a cost-conscious, efficiency-based performance model, proactively identify and mitigate risks, and maintain RAID logs.
- Team Development and Operational Oversight: Lead and mentor project teams, foster continuous improvement, manage project finances, and support application engineering activities such as quotations and customer visits.
Qualifications
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Degrees in business, sciences, or equivalent experience in consultative or business management.
- 8-10 years of proven project management experience in automation or manufacturing industries.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar projects and multiple concurrent projects, with strong scope, schedule, and margin control.
- Knowledge of robotics, PLCs, sensors, pneumatics, and manufacturing processes is advantageous.
Certifications:
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
- Knowledge of Agile, PRINCE2, Lean methodologies.
Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, excellent interpersonal skills, and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
