Job summary

Meow Wolf is seeking a Dir., Project Accounting to lead a team responsible for project budgeting, forecasting, and cost management. You will partner with Creative and Studio teams to develop budgets and implement tracking in Workday, ensuring contracts and scope align with financial controls.

You will oversee cost reporting, support capital planning, and provide actionable insights to improve budgeting accuracy across ongoing and future exhibitions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Construction Management, or related field.
• Master’s degree in Construction Management or MBA preferred.
• CPA certification preferred; supervisory experience is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with Workday, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project accounting team with responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow.
• Coordinate with FP&A to ensure accurate capture of capital expenses and project-related costs.
• Review forecasts and risks; propose risk mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and procurement to ensure budgeting and scheduling integrity.
• Develop recurring status reports for stakeholders on project progress, staffing, and scope changes.
• Oversee AD&P and Exhibition development cost trackers and reporting.
• Create and maintain reports on all aspects of project development and completion.
• Manage budgets for sustainment projects and initial conceptual cost estimates.
• Build cost databases for various facilities and projects with cost comparisons.
• Review weekly/monthly cost reports for accuracy and trends; validate labor tracking.
