Primary Job Responsibilities
  • Understand the current-state product capabilities and envision the future-state needs.
  • Develop and evolve product roadmaps based on business priorities, data and customer insights that deliver the highest value.
  • Ensure appropriate alignment and balance the needs between operational business objectives, IT objectives, and financial objectives.
  • Build and foster strong relationships with key stakeholders and maintain a regular cadence for communications and expectation setting for product stakeholders and executives to enable trust and transparency.
  • Partner with architects, designers and developers in determining how to best apply technology innovations, combined with business process change, to achieve dramatic improvement in business results.
  • Establish, track and adjust metrics for the features/functions of the product(s)
  • Ensure the Agile development team has a healthy backlog of work with high business value, providing input on prioritization.
  • Create and maintain customer feedback loops.
  • Chair project steering committees.
  • Track and manage issues and risks.
  • Recruit, select, coach and develop team members.
  • Conduct performance & development reviews per HR guidelines. Takes corrective actions, including Performance Improvement Plans & terminations, when necessary.
  • Identify and work with potential vendors to ensure a strong, well-understood selection process is used for the vendor and their systems, and their implementation plan and professional services are aligned with our needs.
  • Provide oversight of existing vendors to ensure ongoing effective system use, release management, and support.
  • Ensure intended benefits are realized and work with the team to continuously assess progress, disseminate lessons learned, and understand next steps.
  • Closely follow industry trends, and demonstrate a passion and motivation for continuous learning.
  • Contributes to and champions PulteGroup product management education, best practices, methods, standards and processes.

  • Recommends operational plans and strategies that will directly impact the achievement of overall department results.
  • Directs the execution of strategies established by senior leadership. Establishes operational plans for job area with short to mid-term impact on results (e.g., 1 – 2 Years).

  • Typically has budget accountability for the department or sub-function.
Leadership & Talent Management:
  • Manages a department or smaller sub-function which includes multiple teams led by managers and/or supervisors.
  • Responsible for creating workforce and staffing plans for department/sub-function to ensure availability of human capital necessary to accomplish departmental goals.
  • Typically, has hiring, firing, promotion and reward authority within own area, in accordance with organizational guidelines.
Knowledge & Experience:
  • Requires deep management and leadership knowledge to lead cross-department project or program teams or manage across multiple sub-functions.
  • Typically has mastery within a specific technical discipline/area or broad expertise across multiple related disciplines.
  • Typically requires a university degree or equivalent experience and minimum 8-10 years prior relevant experience.
Required Skills
  • Demonstrated ability to identify business needs and collaborate with cross-functional teams without direct management or oversight.
  • Clear understanding of best-in-class business processes as it relates to assigned business area
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in identifying goals, metrics and analytics to measure product value.

  • Experience operating as a product manager or product owner.
  • Experience in driving innovation and influencing teams with a strong focus on the end user.
  • Experience building customer relationships and delivering customer-centric solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, OneNote and PowerPoint.
