Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Director of Product Development for Enhanced Water and Connected Devices to shape strategy across hardware, software, firmware, and cloud. This remote US-based role owns vision, roadmap, and lifecycle decisions, partnering with technical, commercial, and operations teams to drive launches and ongoing performance.

The candidate will lead governance across firmware and cloud capabilities, translate market insights into requirements, and guide a high-impact product portfolio.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product management, platform, software, IoT, or connected devices, with senior leadership experience.
• Proven ownership of the entire product lifecycle from discovery to launch and beyond
• Experience with software, firmware, cloud, connected hardware, and data products
• Ability to convert business needs into actionable product requirements and measurable outcomes
• Experience leading complex, matrixed delivery models and external development partners
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with a comfort in ambiguity
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degree preferred

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Director, Product Development - Enhanced Water & Connected Devices to join the team of a leader in the Energy & Utilities space.

This leader will shape the strategy and execution for connected products that blend hardware, software, firmware, and cloud capabilities. The role will own the product vision, roadmap, and lifecycle decisions while translating market and customer insights into clear requirements and measurable outcomes. The Director will partner closely with technical, commercial, and operational stakeholders to drive launch readiness, governance, and ongoing performance across the product portfolio.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available.

Compensation: $150,000 – $180,000 annually.
